Hope Moves Back Into Kerr County

Repeated flooding brought renewed loss, but trusted partnerships helped move relief, safety, and whole-person care back into impacted communities.

When torrential rain returned to the Hill Country in mid-July, Kerr County faced another wave of flooding, rising water, and urgent community needs. The Guadalupe River surged more than 30 feet in just three hours, flooding creeks and communities across Boerne, Kerrville, Comfort, Center Point, and surrounding areas.

On July 20, United Rescue Alliance deployed a trained response team to Kerr County. The team established a base camp in Ingram, assessed flood damage, joined coordination meetings with TDEM, Texas VOAD, KerrTogether VOAD, San Antonio VOAD, local churches, donors, and community partners, and began supporting cleanup, muck-out, debris removal, resource movement, and emotional and spiritual care.

Across the deployment, URA pressure washed impacted areas, supported residential and business cleanup, helped remove flood-related debris, coordinated dumpsters, prepared and distributed Bio Clean disinfectant solution, and moved donated resources where they were needed most.

Good360 and Amazon helped supply critical resources including bottled water, more than 2,200 hygiene kits, contractor bags, shovels, push brooms, buckets, lids, multi-tools, respirators, cleaning cloths, laundry detergent, coveralls, mop supplies, safety goggles, gloves, floor cleaner, and additional muck-and-gut supplies.

This response was not only about cleanup. It was about restoring safety, protecting public health, listening to families and business owners, and standing with a community carrying the weight of repeated disasters.

Since 2025, United Rescue Alliance has remained present in Kerr County through repeated deployments, trusted local coordination, hands-on relief, essential resources, and whole-person care.

From initial response and household distributions to debris removal, mold mitigation, survivor support, memorial events, and renewed flood response, URA continues standing with Kerr County for the long road to recovery.

Good360 Highlights Kerrville Recovery

This July, Good360 featured the renewed flooding in Kerr County and the work of trusted organizations serving families on the ground. The article highlights the reality of repeated loss and the importance of getting practical help into impacted communities quickly.

Through our partnership, Good360 helped strengthen URA's response with critical supplies and support for debris removal, cleanup, and long-term recovery. Together, we are helping families move forward with greater safety, dignity, and hope.

July 3 • Kerrville

Honoring a Community That Continues to Heal

On July 3, United Rescue Alliance joined The Coming King Foundation in Kerrville for the Hill Country Flood Memorial Dedication, a sacred time set aside to honor families, responders, volunteers, and community leaders impacted by the Hill Country floods.

A URA team of six helped prepare the space with 60 white chairs, yellow roses, acorns, Divine Servant pins, first-aid support, prayer, and media coverage. The memorial was more than an event. It was a visible reminder that recovery is not only about rebuilding what was damaged, but also about tending to grief, honoring sacrifice, and making room for peace and hope.

URA continues to stand with Kerr County through long-term recovery, whole-person care, and trusted partnerships.

July 13 • San Angelo

Helping Families Rest in San Angelo

On July 13, URA continued long-term recovery support in San Angelo by helping move household recovery resources to Concho Valley Turning Point for families impacted by flooding.

Through a Good360-supported donation procured from Mattress Firm, URA helped deliver 55 mattresses and 45 bed frames in twin, full, queen, and king sizes.

These resources were delivered for distribution to families recovering from flooding across San Angelo. It was practical care with a deeper purpose: helping households move one step closer to stability, dignity, and a safe place to rest.

July 24-31 • Guatemala

Guatemala Mission Outreach Updates

A transformation trip centered on whole-person care, practical service, prayer, and the hope of Jesus.

On July 24, the United Rescue Alliance team departed for Guatemala to serve alongside URA Guatemala and local ministry partners.

Caring for the Elderly

The team visited a home for elderly residents who had once been abandoned and are now cared for by the municipality. Each resident received MannaPack meals, a new pair of shoes, encouragement, and prayer.

A Church Hungry for Jesus

At La Casita Church, six children gave their lives to Christ. The gathering was marked by tears, laughter, prayer, deliverance, and moments of deep encounter with the Lord.

The team also distributed MannaPack meals and solar Bibles and continued preparing additional MannaPack packages.

Monday, July 27

Medical, Dental, and Prayer Outreach

URA partnered with The Moore Center to provide free medical and dental care in Santa Catarina Pinula at the outreach center in Aldea El Carmen.

Dr. Norm Poorman and Angel Poorman provided dental care, including extractions, while Dr. Brenda Gutierrez provided medical consultations. Team members supported logistics, prayer, translation, patient flow, and medication distribution

The United Rescue Alliance Ambassadors of Hope Internship returns this August with hands-on service, leadership development, community outreach, and practical experience designed to help participants grow while making a meaningful difference.

Interns will serve alongside the URA team through kitchen ministry, clothing outreach, street feeds, and leadership development. Each gathering creates space to build confidence, develop practical skills, strengthen compassion, and learn what it means to prepare, respond, and transform in everyday life.
